Content
Through an enjoyable combination of case studies, group work, exercises and presentations this interactive course will cover key BCM standards such as BS 25999 Code of Practice for BCM and apply them to civil contingencies and emergency management. We will explore the BCM "lifecycle" components and review many other topical issues such as cost-effective implementation methods, realistic exercising, pandemics and Information and Communications Technology Continuity Management. The course will be brought to a close by an explanation of how to create a “BCM System”, analogous to a Quality Management System, to provide a framework of operational resilience for critical activities and service levels
Venue
The course will be held at Slaugham Manor, the training and conference centre for Sussex Police staff, located in the heart of the beautiful Sussex countryside. It’s less than a kilometre from the A23 London to Brighton Road with a speedy and direct link to the M25. Gatwick Airport is only 15 minutes away.

Lecturer Practitioners
Garry Poole will lead you through this highly informative and practically beneficial course. Garry is a graduate from Birminham University, UK and was a Metropolitan Police Officer in London. He was a founder member of the Business Continuity Institute that now has 1000s of members across the Globe and was a Business Continuity Manager of the Year (Corporate Insurance & Risk Magazine). Prior to becoming Managing Director of Automata, he was the Global BCM Director for Cable & Wireless covering over 70 countries. With Automata he has assisted many “blue chip” organisations implement their BCM programmes including many within public sector organisations responsible for Civil Protection and Emergency Management. Garry will be supported by David Buckenham and Peter Clarke. Both were senior police officers and are Fellows of ICPEM, Members of the Emergency Planning Society and visiting lecturers at Cranfield Disaster Management Centre. They are also the founders and directors of Paladin Crisis Management Ltd, Automata's partner for this course.
